Emergency Response Plan

What is an emergency response plan?

An emergency response plan outlines procedures to follow if a dangerous or unexpected situation occurs, (tornado, gas leak etc.). It details how employees should respond to the emergency to prevent harm to people, property, and the environment. Once the necessary steps have been taken to create the plan, regular communication, training, and drills are necessary for effective execution. Organizations might not know exactly how or when an emergency situation will develop. Having a thorough plan, however, provides tools to protect people and keep the business safe.
