HRdownloads™ named one of Canada’s Best Workplaces

(April 25, 2016 – London, ON) HRdownloads has proudly been recognized as one of this year’s Best Workplaces in Canada. This is the fourth time HRdownloads has received the esteemed award. The full list of recipients and related stories appear in a special national report released on Friday April 22, 2016 by The Globe and Mail.

This year’s list received over 300 nominations and over 60,000 employees participated in the 2016 “Best Workplaces in Canada” survey. HRdownloads placed 26th out of the top 50 medium-sized organizations in Canada. HRdownloads stood out amongst the nominees for noteworthy practices such as hosting “Wisdom Wednesday”, a company-wide meeting where employees participate in a fun and informative session showcasing company and industry updates. Also of note were new hire onboarding practices, professional development initiatives, and employee appreciation events such as annual “Beach Day”, catered breakfasts, and organic turkeys during the holiday season.

“All of us at HRdownloads are thrilled about receiving such an outstanding acknowledgement. This award has special meaning for us because of the emphasis placed on employee feedback in the selection criteria,” says Anthony Boyle, President and CEO of HRdownloads. “Being that this is the fourth time HRdownloads has won the Best Workplaces in Canada award, it demonstrates that culture can be a part of an effective business strategy. I truly believe the way you treat your employees is how they will treat clients, and this approach has been instrumental to HRdownloads’ success.”

This list of “Best Workplaces in Canada” is compiled by Great Place to Work® Institute Canada. The competition process is based on two criteria: two-thirds of the total score comes from a 58-statement survey completed by a random selection of employees, along with their open-ended comments about their organization; the remaining one-third of the score comes from an in-depth review of the organization’s culture, including an evaluation of HR policies and procedures. This offers a comprehensive representation of the organization from an employee perspective and an overall portrait of the workplace culture. Together, they provide crucial data relative to the five trust-building dimensions of a great place to work®: credibility, respect, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.
