It’s the beginning of a new year, which means it’s time to reflect on the past and prepare for the year ahead. 2020 was a tough year for all of us as we navigated the challenges of a global pandemic. Together, employers and employees faced many challenges, including business closures, layoffs, strict health and safety measures, changing business models, remote work, and mental health struggles. It is no surprise that our experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic were a driving factor for the HR trends we will see this year. While there are numerous HR trends to explore, we have chosen to highlight people-based trends this year.
Why people-based trends?
This year, we want to encourage employers to take a people-first approach to help ensure employees get the support and attention they need. Remember, your employees are your most important asset, so you need to ensure they are well taken care of, and we are here to help you do just that..
What does a people-first approach look like?
It looks like investing in the people that make your business what it is. Putting your people first makes them feel valued, and in turn more productive. When you invest in your people, they invest in your customers and your business. Think about your team. Do you have employees who go above and beyond? Who make your customers happy or come up with really great ideas? They value your organization, but it’s probably because they feel valued themselves. If you want your whole team to go above and beyond, you must first make sure they feel valued and that they believe in your company.
Now that you know a bit more about what a people-centric approach looks like, let’s look at three people-based trends we expect to see in 2021 and how you can incorporate them into your workplace. Download our FREE HR Trends of 2021 Guide here!
